Covestro donates 100,000 PC goggles and thermometers to Wuhan

The World Health Organization declared that the new coronavirus outbreak was a global health emergency. In China, the number of deaths reached over 200, while confirmed infections about 10,000.


To support medical staff in the coronavirus outbreak, Covestro is donating 100,000 polycarbonate (PC) goggles and thermometers to hospitals in Wuhan and surrounding areas.


According to the Covestro, the first 20,000 pairs of goggles are already on their way to Wuhan where the new coronavirus was first identified.


The German producer of high-tech polymers has a long history in China, running an integrated site located in Shanghai. It is the company’s largest investment outside of Germany and the largest production site in Asia Pacific region.
